Welcome at Logis de la Barre

In the heart of the Charente, 20 km north of the historic city of Angoulême, surrounded by woods and fields, lies Logis de la Barre" also called "Chateau de la Barre".

The Charente, the department with the most sunflowers of France and many historic cities, churches, cathedrals, castles and of course not to forget: its Cognac. At less than 45 km you are in the village of Cognac with its many Cognac Houses, which can be visited with guided tours and tastings. The Charente has a rich history and La Barre is an excellent base to discover it. You can do nothing all day and enjoy the peace and silence of the countryside, but you can also go out and discover the rolling countryside by bike or on foot. Several walks can be made directly from the estate. 

The castle from 1487 with an estate of 20 hectares has a total of 5 gites, which 2 are offered for rent, this allows you to fully enjoy the peace and silence. One gite is suitable for 4 persons and one for 2 persons. The gites are fully equipped and have a lovely south-facing terrace where you can enjoy the view with a nice glass of wine or enjoy a good book. The gites are for rent from half of April to the end of September.
